Personal Stories

“Two years ago I began to lose the vision in my left eye. One year ago, I began to lose vision in my right eye. Within one month, I was totally blind. I worked in the medical field as did my friends. None of us knew anything about losing vision. My friends got on-line to find out what to do and they discovered Blindsight Delaware.

The first person I talked to after losing my vision was Patti who leads Peer Support. She told me about the Peer Support Group. And I’m so glad she did because our Peer Support Group is a safe place, and I mean that – it is a safe place. It’s where I can talk about what I’m experiencing that I can’t talk to my family or friends about. Peer Support is where I can laugh, cry, be encouraged and encourage, find solutions, and discover that I can do things I thought were impossible.

Patti and my Peer Support friends make me know that I am not by myself and they encourage me to do things I thought were impossible.”
